Why Take Amino Acids for Nutritional Health?

Amino Acids are the molecular building blocks of all proteins, which are essentially the “Building Blocks of Life.” In fact, protein comprises 50-75% of all the material found in most cells, excluding water.

Some amino acids are called, “Essential” as they are essential for life and can not be produced within our bodies. They must come from outside nutritional sources. Others are called non essential. This means that under the optimum circumstances our bodies will produce some of these chemicals. This only happens when we are completely healthy and with the stress level in our lives, junk food, lack of sleep, illness etc, this rarely occurs.

The importance of amino acids is two-fold. First, they are used to create various substances such as neurotransmitters, hormones, glucose and more. Secondly, they are the building blocks used to make all proteins. Each one of them performs their own specific functions. There are many conditions that increase amino acid requirements, the most common being, stress, either physiological or psychological.
